Operation of sewerage and water-supply systems

Daily maintenance is a set of activities directed at maintaining a serviceable condition of the water-supply and sewerage systems and their preset operating parameters.
Maintenance includes:

• daily monitoring of drinking water consumption;
• preparation of a report on water-supply and water-drainage balance;
• performance of emergency work on the household pipeline and fire pipeline around the clock (electric welding operations for removal of wormholes, replacement of gate valves and pipe sections);
• removal of clogs in the internal water-supply and sewerage systems;
• elimination of leaks in pipe joints;
• inspection of sewerage exhausts;
• inspection of drainage pit condition;
• inspection of condition of storm run-off pipes; cleaning of storm run-off pipes;
• cleaning of drainage pits;
• replacement of damaged covers and manholes of pits;
• periodic preventive visual inspection of the water-supply and sewerage systems (once a year) and removal of damages detected during inspection.

Scheduled preventive repair includes:

• sealing of pipe joints with bitumen;
•  strengthening of water-supply and sewerage pipes with mounting of additional brackets;
• replacement of rubber seals in access eye covers;
• repair of heat insulation of pipelines at places of possible freezing;
• repair of gates, cocks, valves, blenders, etc.;
• repair of traps, siphons, access eyes and other parts of the sewerage system;
• replacement of monitoring and metering instruments;
• cleaning of water meter filters; cleaning of the building sewer;
• gland packing in valves, cocks, gates; strengthening of pipelines;
• cleaning of siphons;
• cleaning of water taps;
• scheduled replacement of pipelines;
• hydraulic testing;
